Food and drink

The main Restaurant within the Itajaí Campus opens for lunch from Monday to Friday, 11 am to 2 pm. There is also a range of other restaurants and snack bars (pizzas, hot dogs, ice creams, soups, sandwiches, salads, burgers, cakes, and many other snacks) offering lunch and dinner from 7 am to 10 pm, in all the campuses.

In Itajaí, just five minutes’ walk from the university, you will a variety of cafés, snack bars and restaurants, as well as bakeries and supermarkets, McDonald’s and Subway.

Slightly further afield, Itajaí and Balneário Camboriú have a wealth of restaurants, with cuisine ranging from seafood to barbecue, for meals ranging from snacks to intimate dinners.

Internet connection

Univali offers free Internet access and printing facilities. The university also has free Wi-Fi connection in various areas of its campuses.There are internet cafés located downtown and at the Itajaí Shopping Center. Prices vary, but are usually very affordable.


Univali’s Central Library holds about 130,000 book titles. It also has DVDs and CD-ROM and journal collections. Students may borrow books and other materials free of charge.

Public Transport

Itajaí is covered by a good bus network that takes you almost anywhere. As a student, you can request a 50% discount on the fare. For this, you will need to register, providing the following documents:

  • A Declaration from Univali, stating that you are a regular student;
  • Proof of address in Brazil;
  • Your ID.
  • CoAI is ready to assist you with any questions you may have.


At the Itajaí campus, Univali has its own gym for students, where you can work out and keep fit. Univali also has a swimming pool, a stadium, and sports fields.

Outside Univali, you will find many other sports centers where you can play sports and take classes. And because all our campuses are located along the coast, walking, jogging and surfing are always popular pastimes.
