Professional Master in Psychology



​The Profe​​ssional Master's Degree Program in Psychology aims to promote and develop scientific research applied to emerging demands within the scope of psychosocial practices, human development, communities, organizations and institutions, in order to develop innovative interventions aimed at solving human problems.

 

The Program prepare​​​s the student to:

  • Critically analyze situations that involve practices in psychology, in line with the demand and adapted to the contemporary times;

  • Diagnose protective and stressor factors in the subjects' social contexts;

  • Plan psychosocial interventions that leverage available resources for individuals and organizations, recognizing aspects of the social context, with a view to promoting healthy environments;

  • Develop activities in scientific research and applied research to the different contexts of psychology, especially the demands of health, human development processes and psychosocial practices;

  • Develop practices in the scope of prevention, promotion and intervention in mental health and its interfaces with the social, clinical and institutional field;

  • Exercise teaching activities in higher education institutions in the region and also in permanent education and in the area of training and development of market professionals;

  • Apply the acquired knowledge, considering ethics, critical thinking and creativity, stimulating effective and innovative solutions to existing problems;

  • Develop investigations capable of building methodologies, strategies and technologies to respond to problems identified in the world of work;

  • Develop interventions aimed at solving human problems;

  • Disseminate the knowledge and technologies developed in the academic sphere and in the practice scenarios that involve the work of the psychologist;

  • Apply the knowledge and technologies developed by proposing innovative, contemporary interventions, with a view to solving emerging demands and transforming the area in which they operate;

  • Assess the impacts of interventions and implement adjustments in practices in order to leverage the resources of the clinical and social context.

Classes are taught by at least two professors with different areas of research and expertise in psychology. This practice is essential for classroom contents to be worked on in an interdisciplinary way, taking into account the interfaces between the human and health sciences and also the diversity within psychology itself.

  • Classes on Thursdays and Fridays (afternoon and evening)

  • Thursday - 5 pm to 9:30 pm

  • Friday - 3 pm to 9:30 pm

 

Duration​​

The duration of the course will be two years (4 semesters). There are 30 credits, distributed in compulsory, optional, course completion and complementary activities.

 

Target Audience

Graduates in Psychology and professionals with higher education, interested in the interface between psychology and areas related to health, social assistance, the environment, education and work.

Perman​​ent Professors

 

PhD in Education, Master in Production Engineering and graduated in Computer Science with expressive professional performance in the area of training, analysis and systems projects. Alves develops technical productions, as well as research and university extension projects in the area of games, accessibility, digital inclusion, learning, systems and software production. Alves has an innovative profile and is connected to the market, with extensive teaching experience in the areas of technology and game design. She also works as a professor in the Master's Program in Education at Univali and provides guidance on topics related to the Psychosocial Technologies and Practices line of research.
Carina Nunes Bossardi, Ph.D.​
​​PhD in Psychology, Bossardi works in the care of children, adolescents and their families and also in early childhood education, with a group of parents and teachers. Since 2010, she has been carrying out a research project in partnership with Canadian universities and the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Bossardi has broad experience in instrument validation and cross-cultural research in human development. She also works as a professor in the Master's Program in Health and Work Management at Univali, and provides guidance on topics related to the Health Psychology line of research in Human Development Process.
Cristina Maria Pozzi, Ph.D.​​
​​PhD in Sciences, Master in Pediatrics and Graduated in Medicine. Pozzi works as a Neuropediatrician at the Hearing Health Care Service and as a professor at the Univali Medicine Undergraduation Program. Pozzi has professional and academic experience in the area of neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. She brings together impact production and broad social insertion through lectures, workshops, continuing education, radio and TV interviews, in intervention projects in the area of typical and atypical development and, in particular, in the understanding of ASD. She provides guidance on topics related to the Health Psychology line of research in the Human Development Process and Studies in Human Development, Communication and Hearing.
Eduardo José Legal
PhD in Experimental Psychology. He works mainly on the following topics: neuropsychology of executive functions, resilience and well-being, burnout, stress, eating behavior. He has extensive experience in teaching, in advising on the construction of a support network for aphasic subjects in the City of Itajaí and in the region, as well as in social insertion in the area of neuropsychological assessment and quality of executive functions. He provides guidance on topics related to the Health Psychology line of reseachi n Human Development Process.​​
Jamir Joao Sarda Junior, Ph.D.
PhD in Medicine, has experience in the area of construction and validity of tests, scales and other psychological measures, working mainly in the areas of clinical and psychological assessment, chronic pain, health psychology and also as a consultant in the area of collective health and worker's health. Sarda Junior is a member of the Brazilian Society for the Study of Pain, the Santa Catarina Association for the Study of Pain and the International Association for the Study of Pain. Sarda Junior researches on psychological processes in health and pain promotion, symptom control and palliative care, chronic pain, situational diagnoses and intervention planning. He provides guidance on topics related to the Health Psychology line of research in Human Development Process.​​​​
Joao Rodrigo Maciel Portes, Ph.D.
PhD in Psychology, Master in Psychology, and specialist in Clinical Psychology. He has experience as a psychologist responsible for the Clínica Escola de Psicologia. Portes also worked as a psychologist at the Univali Accessibility Center and was technically responsible for the Specialized Center for Physical and Intellectual Rehabilitation (CER II-Itajaí). Portes is a professor and coordinator of the Psychology Undergraduate Course at Univali. He also has academic and professional experience with human development, clinical psychology, psychopedagogy, inclusion processes, disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Provides guidance on topics related to the Psychosocial Technologies and Practices line of research, specifically in the field of inclusion of people with disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.​​
Josiane da Silva Delvan da Silva, Ph.D.
PhD in Psychology with extensive professional insertion in the area of parenting groups and child development promotion, health psychology and psychological preparation service in the hospital and outpatient area. Silva provides guidance on topics related to the Health Psychology line of research in Human Development Process.​​​
​Juliana Vieira Almeida Silva, Ph.D.
PhD in Psychology. She works at the interface between the areas of Psychology and Administration. It presents social insertion through clinical psychology, working with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Schema Therapy. Currently, she works as a clinical psychologist and professor of Psychology at Univali and has experience in the areas of psychopathology, clinical psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, constructivist therapy, procedural therapy, neurophysiology of learning and emotional intelligence. Silva works in the production of games and is developing research for a digital game about behavioral modeling and stimulation of executive functions in ADHD. Silva also provides guidance on topics related to the Psychosocial Technologies and Practices line of research.​
Roberta Borghetti Alves, Ph.D.
PhD in Psychology. She was a member of the National Commission for Psychology in Emergencies and Disasters of the Federal Council of Psychology. Alves participates as a collaborator in the Laboratory of Environmental Psychology at UFSC. Conducts research on the themes of Psychometrics, Collective Health, Environmental Psychology and Comprehensive Risk and Disaster Management. Articulating professor of PET – Health. It works in the public health network and NASF. It has social and academic insertion through public health and in the psychology of emergencies and disasters, psychological assessment and psychology of person-environment interactions. Provides guidance on topics related to The Psychosocial Technologies and Practices line of research.​​
Rosana Marques da Silva Rampazzo, Ph.D.
PhD in Psychology - UFSC; Master in Production and Systems Engineering - UFSC (2000), in the Quality and Productivity line; Specialist in Psychological Assessment - UNIPLAC (2007) and Celer Faculdades (2014), Graduated in Psychology - UFSC (1994). Training in Gestalt Therapy by Configuration - Florianópolis. Professional and Self Coaching (IBC - Brazilian Institute of Coaching - 2012). Personal and Executive Coach (ICI - Integrated Coaching Institute; Career Coach (ICI - Integrated Coaching Institute). Professor of the Psychology and Public Relations course at the University of Vale do Itajaí (Univali). Since 2009, Rampazzo provides services in organizational and work psychology and psychological assessment, developing activities related personnel recruitment and selection, training and development, potential assessment, career coaching, planning and coaching.​​​


Collaborating Teac​​hers​

PhD student in Oncology. She develops insertion activities as a psychologist at the Interdisciplinary Outpatient Clinic for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at USFC/Univali. She also works as a clinical psychologist and with team development related to conflict management and time management. She has worked as a psychologist with a public examination in municipal governments in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment Programs, Socio-educational Measures Programs and as a school psychologist. Develops research and practices focused on the Health Psychology line of research in Human Development Process.

The Master's Degree stude​​​​nt will have a minimum period of 24 months and a maximum of 30 months to complete the course, and must complete at least 30 credits distributed as follows:

  • Common Core – 10 credits in Compulsory disciplines

  • Core of electives – 12 credits in elective disciplines

  • Specific core – 06 credits in research for the development of the final work + 02 credits among all other activities.

Area of Concentration​​

Health psychology, human development processes and psychosocial practices

Considering the diversity of areas of practice, knowledge, techniques and approaches of psychology in interface with the human and health sciences, the Professional Master's Program in Psychology has health psychology, the human development process and psychosocial practices as an area of concentration.

It seeks to train researchers and professionals to raise new questions, deepen and reflect on the knowledge of psychology. It aims to contribute to the areas of health, human development and psychosocial practices in different contexts of investigation, action and intervention. This choice is also made within the scope of local needs, in view of the pole of the Vale do Itajaí region in the different health institutions, education and organizations.

This line investigates assessment and intervention processes involving health throughout the life cycle. Its objective is to develop techniques and instruments for the diagnosis and planning of interventions to promote human development.
