Professional Master of Business Administration - Management, Internationalization and Logistics



THE PROGRAM


As a Professional Master's Degree, the PMPGIL combines accumulated scientific knowledge with the reality of companies. All dissertations are developed through applied research, seeking solutions to the main organizational problems, from a regional, national and international perspective.

You will have access to an internationalized education, in an environment of professional and academic excellence, with nationally and internationally recognized professors. In addition, you will have a rich interaction in the classroom, with market professionals who study with us.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR


Graduates occupying or intending to occupy management positions, consultants and entrepreneurs interested in developing a critical and scientifically grounded view of Administration, specializing in specific topics during the development of the dissertation.

Administration is an applied and multidisciplinary area, and our Program is also open to graduates in several areas, such as Economics, Engineering, Computing, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, among others. ABOUT CAPES EVALUATION SYSTEM


The evaluation of Graduate Programs carried out by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) includes the annual follow-up and the quadrennial performance evaluation. It is carried out in all programs and courses that are part of the National Postgraduate System – SNPG. This rating system indicates programs with a standard of academic excellence.

Students must demonstrate knowledge of the English language, as there may be classes, research groups and readings in English. Foreigners must, in addition, prove proficiency in the Portuguese language.

RESEARCH LINES

 

Line 1: Business Management

 This research line involves studies and research on strategy approaches in organizations, competitive positioning, organizational capabilities, as well as entrepreneurship and innovation and their impact on the market. Critical, theoretical and practical discussions about the organizational environment and the impacts on organizational management.

 

Line 2: Internationalization and Logistics

 This research line covers topics related to companies' internationalization strategies to strengthen their commercial position; standardization of processes; value chain analysis; strategic positioning and synergies.

Studies on logistics have a natural interaction with the internationalization theme, including the analysis of logistic operations and its costs in export projects, the analysis of the international physical distribution chain, etc.. In addition, it focus on operations and logistics strategies, as well as emerging themes that allow organizations to acquire sustainable competitive advantages.

INTERNATIONALIZATION

 

Linnaeus-Palme Program

PMPGIL participates in the Linnaeus-Palme Program, a partnership with the Swedish Government that aims to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions in Sweden and developing countries, promoting global contacts in the academic world. The program provides short-term exchange scholarships for professors and medium- and long-term exchange for students, who will be able to study at the University of Halmstad/Sweden for a period of six months to one year, with a scholarship in the amount of 56,500 SEK (Swedish kronor).

International Agreements

  • UNIVERSITY OF FIRENZE/ITALY. Provides for the exchange of professors and students for teaching and research activities. NEINTE works in partnership with the group of researchers from Firenze, and they have become a reference in creative industry and the agglomeration of companies a mong other  themes. The partnership also includes classes taught by professors from both universities, as well as joint productions, published books, book chapters and articles.


  • UNIVERSITY OF PAVIA/ITALY. Provides for teaching and research activities involving professors and students from both institutions. The partnership progressed in 2020 to the ERASMUS MUNDUS exchange program, which enables Italian professors to teach in PMPGIL. The partnership resulted in an article in the International Business Review, which received the International Business Review award, Best paper 2018, Elsevier.


  • UNIVERSITY OF SAGINAW/USA. Provides for the exchange of students and professors, with support from both universities for professors and students.

 

Double Degree with University of Alicante/Spain 

Those who choose to enroll in the dual degree modality can receive, after completing their master's, a Master's degree in Administration – Management, Internationalization and Logistics by Univali, and a Master's degree in Dirección y Gestión de Empresas by the University of Alicante. The advantages of double degrees include a more internationalized education, knowledge of the regional reality of the partner university, in addition to the elimination of the need to revalidate a Brazilian diploma in the European Union.
